• Award-winning Oval Beach on Lake Michigan is just 1/3 mile from the Beachway Resort. Restrooms and a concession stand are provided.
• Mount Baldhead, Saugatuck's largest sand dune is just 1/8 mile from the Beachway Resort. Be prepared for a workout - there are 282 stairs to the top of the dune, but the reward is the view! Be sure to bring your camera for some of the most picturesque views of quaint downtown Saugatuck to the east and sparkling Lake Michigan to the west that you've ever seen!
• Saugatuck's own hand-cranked pedestrian chain ferry - the last one operating in the United States! This is the quickest way across the river and the best part is you won't have to deal with parking! The kids are sure to insist on at least one ride on the chain ferry. Please note the ferry only operates Memorial Day - Labor Day, and always weather-permitting.
• Charming downtown shops, restaurants, and art galleries are as close as a quick trip across the river on Saugatuck's hand-cranked pedestrian chain ferry, or a short drive by car around the harbor to the bridge. (See location page for a detailed map.)
